What does it truly mean to live from relationship rather than obligation?

In this verse, King David urges his son Solomon to pursue God with sincerity and wholehearted devotion. Truly knowing God goes beyond simply believing He exists—it’s about the posture of our hearts. That’s why a relationship with God is far more powerful and authentic than just having knowledge about Him. Even the demons recognize who God is, but they don’t walk with Him in relationship. Through Christ, we’re invited into something far deeper—an intimate, living connection with the Creator of our hearts.

“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.”
